Some people I tell you....

Think as Malaysians! - says our beloved PM ; and not Malays, Chinese or Indians.

Good idea worr.... all of us should applaud that, and you do that too okay? and treat us ALL as MALAYSIANS and not M, C or I. otherwise, all talk-talk only..again.

Ah, and yet again, the issue on hygiene, cleanliness and hospital infections have come to play, raised by the media.

People scrutinize, criticize, blame and hold hospital staff responsible for the contamination, spread of infection and conditions in the hospital. It is to a certain extent that hospitals ought to be cleaner and more stringent to keep the spread of infections at bay. Everyone should know, or be told, that a hospital's environment is a whole new biological field altogether, as opposed to the 'outside' world. It's a congregation of SICK people (or bodies) of various aetiologies (causes). So, what d'ya expect?!?

People do need treatment and to get better. It is unfortunate that you might just end up with something more complicated than what you got admitted for. But some people would only know how to complain.

DO NOT COMPLAIN IF YOU GOT ADMITTED DUE TO:
- driving under influence and crashed
- emphysema/lung cancer/asthma because you smoked 40 cigs a day for the past 30 years
- alcohol abuse of more than 30 units a week and so having a multitude of problems such as cirrhosis
- obesity due to unhealthy diet and sedimentary lifestyle thus having 1001 problems again
- previous heart problems and still smoking, drinking excessively & not watching your diet
- refusal to take medication as advised

YOU HAVE PUT YOURSELF IN THE SITUATION WHERE YOU ASKED TO BE ADMITTED!

The medical education emphasizes a lot on patients these days. Patients should know all these and be more appreciative. What are the benefits if we don't treat you properly?!?! Our salary is fixed by the NHS. Instead, our reputation is at stake if we are not at our best (in case we work privately too). We have so many books and journals and papers written on how we can be better doctors.

But hey, people out there, doctors included, read those few books out on how to be a good patient!!! (reason why doctors have to read: to refute all the nonsense that some authors write in them)

What is going on with the world these days?

Obesity is not the fault of people?!

Smoking is a disease, not addiction?!

A Nobel Prize winner in one of the greatest discoveries of science and medicine is an arrogant fool?

Lawyers suing airline companies for the risk of thrombosis? Yeah, they might be helping these people, but are these people fools? Perhaps a consent form must be signed explaining risks and complications before anything is done, be it - eating at McD, going for a cycle, attending class (for possible uneventful learning)..etc.

Yeah, and guess what, with all these legal formalities going on so commonly, no wonder that everyone wants to be a lawyer!

People are all selfish. The videotape case back home has seen no/little results published in the media. Two possibilities - stagnant case (as many others) or media is 'controlled' or BOTH!
