Whoever said that 2nd Year @ Cardiff was gonna be loose and easier than Year 1 was WRONG!!!
The timetable is so packed! Classes are always 9AM - 4PM and sometimes until 5PM!!
There is so much to catch up..and my memory is failing me...=(
sigh sigh sigh

Back to School
Today marks the end of the summer holidays and it's back to school! Enrolment Day is today and I'll be getting my timetable and whatnots later in the morning. Really wished that yesterday could last longer, and perhaps never end. Ironically, two weeks ago, I was hoping that classes would start earlier. But now that the term is here, I want to avoid that. The pressure and tension is slowly coming as friends come back from their holidays...MEDICS friends!!!
Cardiff City is abuzz with loads of students now. I have to get use to this after a month and a half of quiet life in this pretty serene city. I think I miss the quiet times and prefer that to boisterous students. But that being said, it is nice to see friends walking around town and along the streets.
I don't think I've put my summer holidays to full use and for this I am gonna regret. But it has been quite a summer... =)
Week 1 - 7 was simply fantastic. And the final week was rather melancholic. Fun at times, weird sometimes. Quite a change to me.
Hope all of you reading are doing great!

Imbasan suatu ketika dahulu..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nenek sibuk membuat kuih bahulu
Untuk cucu-cucu yang disayanginya
Inginku bawa saudara mengimbas dua tahun yang telah berlalu
Segala yang telah bertitik mula dari sana
Air tertakung dalam perigi
Menjadi sumber air kampung halaman
Janji yang dibuat tetap satu janji
Suatu hari ianya mesti dikotakan
Si jejaka berjalan ke sana ke mari
Menunggu si gadis menjadi idaman
Ikhlaskanlah yang telahpun lafaz dari hati
Janganlah cari seribu satu alasan
Matahari terbit bersinar terik
Membawa cahaya penyeri hari
Tunaikan janji jangan serik
Usahlah mengecewakan hati shu li
Walaupun gagal jangan hampa
Ada peluang cuba lagi
Waktu yang dinanti sudahpun tiba
Harapan adinda kekal hingga kini
29 hours....
Tuesday 12th Sept,
3.00AM:
Went to bed
4.00AM:
Woke up from 2 bad dreams in sweats. Messaged someone online cuz I didn't want to get back to sleep instantly. The dream was disturbing. Needed company. Dun wanna sleep alone..*_*
8.30AM:
Woke up from the 3rd bad dream...downed myself with stronger-than-normal coffee. A few stuff lined up to do today. I did my laundry, chatted with my dear dear cousin, watched Corpse Bride halfway (again! - I love the song that they played together as a duet!) and surfed the internet first before I went off to settle my accommodation matters.
11.30AM:
I am really getting annoyed with this Residences Office. If they give me any trouble when I get back, I'm soooo gonna write in a letter of complaint! hehe, you do it best, when you have nothing to do..(sung to the tune of "When you say nothing at all")
12.20PM:
Walked around Tesco Extra shopping and browsing for stuff...
1.30PM:
Chatted with mommy dearest for a bit and again, to my cousin. She really 'bo-mi-kia cho' lately! HAHA!
2.00PM:
Started baking!!! Took out the ingredients, prepared them, weighed them, mixed them..haha! At the same time, cooked for lunch and dinner as well.
3.00PM:
Ate my lunch which consisted of veggie soup in chicken broth and BBQ-sauce chicken. =P *YUMMM* Watched some silly lame British show on TV. Boy, do I miss American sitcomes and series! And, kept an eye on my baking! My first time baking here! hehe..
3.45PM:
Ah, kitchen doings done! Cleaned up the dishes and place before hustling back into the room to pack up a lil' bit. Hoovered and cleaned it too. =D HAPPIE!
4.30PM:
Back to chatting online and reading news online.
5.20PM:
I was feeling really tired and needed a nap but I didn't manage to catch one.... =(
6.00PM:
Up from bed and lazed around in the house, chatting online as well.
6.30PM:
Finally overcame laziness and drowsiness to go meet up with friends. =D Brought the cake I baked and started walking. Haha, sense of direction wasn't too good. And when I finally knew how to get there, I didn't have enough credit in my phone to call my friend to come out of her room! Had to walk towards the opposite direction and head towards town. The moment I took out my money to pay for the top-up voucher, my friend called! Haha!
7.30PM:
Finally reached where I wanted to go. Face lighted up with glee as I saw my new badminton racquet, and a few other miscellineous stuff I got from home. =D =D CHatted and chatted and chatted..and joined by another friend..and continued chatting until another friend came in. The sequence of event of this latter friend was: knocked on the door, hopped in, sat down, ate the cake, talked a thing of two with his mouth stuffed with the cake, and when it was downed, said goodnight and left. '..........'
10.30PM:
Chat venue shifted to ZL's place... haha!
11.30PM:
Had to get back home now. Arrived back 20 mins later and hung around the internet for a while before hopping into the shower.
Wednesday 13th Sept;
12.20PM:
This is sooo not very good - ATE!...quite a lot
12.30PM:
Eat...internet...eat...chat online....Hung around online
2.30AM:
Crept into bed. Slumberland...
4.00AM:
8.20AM:
Good morning Wednesday! Sun is up, sky is darkish blue...lots to do today again. =) YAY! happie!!! cuz i've been doing nothing for the past one and a half months.
Bring back my memories...
What's an email compared to a hand-written letter; signed, sealed and delivered with a pretty stamp at the right hand corner of the lovely white envelope...
What's an ecard compared to a real/hand-made card; personally created with beautiful written phrases from the heart..
What's an internet phone call compared to one called using the normal phone, full attention paid to the caller and the recipient without interruption or lags...
True indeed what my sis-aunt said. Technology has taken over too much our lives. The aesthetic value of the wonderful-ly quaint way of communicating and showing our emotions is tragically gone.
I truly miss the long phone calls, of holding the receiver to the ear instead of earphones or computer speakers; writing pages long of letters every week, having to stock up on paper and pen ink refills, to go to the post office and ask for new stamps, to fold the paper and put it into the envelope, sealing the envelope, writing the name and address of a loved one and sticking a stamp onto it; receiving cards and parcels through the post box seeing your name and address written by a loved one..
I wish those days to be returned to me..
Back to School - Edition: Along the streets
The pedestrian bridge over Cathays Train Stop, one of the many routes to Biosi from Senghennydd Court..
The stretch of road at the back of Student's Union.
How many pubs do one go to in a PubCrawl? For Cardiff students, it starts here! At Woody's.
Hehe, and a cranky old van to boot.
September has arrived....
To my family in Cardiff who are back in Malaysia..just a lil' taster of what you're gonna come back to..the common sites! hehe. Hope you guys remember how things are like! Don't whine!
Now, how can you not forget the lingering scent of the Dissection Room each time we walk pass here..
The stairway from and to the Lecture Theatre and away..
Ah, the common space bordered by the refractory (NorthWest), the computer lab (East), Toilets! (north east and south west).
East Wing...
The glass display cupboard of....(go figure!)
And the red-brick university buildings along Park
Place
Yeah, I know all these photos seem deserted. Trust me, I would have done some silly antics and pose in these photos had there been a cameraperson who's there with me!
Regrets
I am sure to regret the past 5 weeks which I have just wasted away. I can't believe what a terrible mistake I have made. It is truly disappointing and frustrating. I know that down the lane from today, I will look back at these few weeks and hate myself for allowing it to be like this.
Going NuTs
Yesterday, I made pancakes! FREE-STYLE! =P I have no idea why I even took the trouble to make them since I don't really like them. I guess I just fancy making them. So, in order to be able to eat some of the pancakes that I made, I added lots and lots of Greek currants into the batter~! Overall, it turned out alright. I think it would have been better if i drizzled honey or maple syrup over it. hehe, in an attempt to overpower the flour/dough-y taste?!? LoL. but then again, flour/dough does not have any taste. So, it's only normal that the pancakes go with jam, chocolate syrup, honey or ice-cream!..still, I don't quite like pancakes.
Next up: Baking teacakes~!
Followed by: Meatballs~! (though I still prefer the 'yuk kuin'..anyone has a recipe for that?)
Shu Li --> evolving into a domestic goddess? *_* =D
I guess these are things that I would like to do in my lifetime..(yeah, like entering the kitchen!)..besides:
1. Climbing Mt Kinabalu
2. Exploring Mulu Caves
3. Entering Gua Tempurung
4. Trying out weird cuisines
5. Diving in Mabul
6. White water rafting
7. Bungee jumping
8. Canoeing
9. To see all 7 wonders of the world (though Babylon seems quite impossible)
10. To go to the US of A
11. Indulge in luxury!
12. argh, lazy to think...just wanna have a blast.
ah, and one more photo i'd like to put up here:
shuly is at the centre! striped black, red, pink & white
